Why we use these suppliers

We primarily work with S&S Activewear and SanMar because they’ve proven, over time, to be reliable partners for our clients and our team.

  • Reliability you can count on: Consistent processing and shipping help us keep projects on schedule — especially when timelines are tight.
  • Strong inventory across sizes and colors: Deeper inventory makes it easier to outfit teams, staff, and large groups without scrambling for substitutions.
  • Customer favorites, tested over time: Tried-and-true brands and styles we know will wear, wash, and hold up.
  • Predictable quality for decoration: From screen printing to embroidery, these products perform well and deliver consistent results.

Most professional decoration companies use these same wholesalers. What sets 608 Threads apart is the long-standing relationships we’ve built with our supplier reps, giving us better visibility, smoother coordination, and added reliability when it matters most.

How we help you choose: Good / Better / Best

When it comes to apparel and branded goods, most decisions come down to balancing cost, quality, comfort, and how the item will be used.

We often talk through options using a simple Good / Better / Best framework:

  • Good: Reliable, budget-friendly options that work well for large groups, events, and giveaways.
  • Better: A step up in fabric, fit, or finish — ideal for staff apparel, clubs, teams, and items people will wear regularly.
  • Best: Premium styles and brands with elevated materials and feel, well-suited for leadership teams, gifts, and high-visibility moments.

We’ll help you decide where it makes sense to invest — and where it doesn’t — so your order works hard for you.

Sourcing brands you already love

Already have a brand or specific style in mind? In most cases, we can help with that.

If there’s a brand or retailer you prefer that isn’t available through our core suppliers, we can often contact the brand, open a wholesale account, and source the products you’re looking for. Once sourced, we handle ordering, tracking, quality checks, and decoration — just like we do with our primary suppliers.

If you’re not sure whether a brand is available wholesale, send it our way and we’ll take a look.

A note on client-provided apparel

We strongly discourage clients from sourcing their own garments from Amazon, big-box retailers, or consumer websites. Here's why:

  • Wholesale pricing and accountability: Our supplier relationships allow for competitive pricing, order tracking, and the ability to replace damaged or incorrect items.
  • Consistency and quality control: Retail garments often vary in fabric and construction — even within the same style — which can impact decoration results.
  • Production precision matters: Decoration relies heavily on knowing the fabric makeup to dial in inks, thread, pressure, and curing temperatures. Unknown or inconsistent materials increase the risk of scorching, shrinkage, dye migration, or print failure.

That said, we understand there are exceptions and we will discuss on a case by case basis.

When we will accept client-provided apparel

We may accept garments you’ve already purchased or acquired under very strict conditions, including:

  • Full brand, style number, and fabric composition provided in advance
  • Items must be new, unwashed, and free of defects
  • Additional garments will be required to account for testing, setup, and calibration prior to full production
  • Client-provided goods must be delivered on time and in full, ready for decoration. If not, client-provided apparel may incur handling and packaging fees to account for the additional labor required to unpack, sort, prep, and repackage garments that arrive individually wrapped or outside our standard production workflow.

Please note:

  • We are not responsible for damage to client-supplied apparel during production
  • We cannot replace damaged or misprinted items that were not sourced through our suppliers
  • Turnaround times may be impacted due to additional testing, setup, and handling

Bottomline: Sourcing through us is better, more efficient and cost-effective. Our goal is always to deliver high-quality, consistent results you’ll be proud to wear. In nearly all cases, sourcing through our trusted wholesale partners is the safest and most efficient way to make that happen.
